The series
How many Dog House slots are there?
Nine, as of October 2026: The Dog House (2019), The Dog House Megaways (2020), The Dog House Dice Show (2023), The Dog House Multihold (2023), Dog or Alive (2024), Muttley Crew (2024), Royal Hunt (2025), The Big Dog House (2026) and The Dog House Megaways 1000 (2026). All are made by Pragmatic Play.
Which Dog House game came first?
The Dog House, released by Pragmatic Play in May 2019. It's a 5×3 slot with 20 paylines, wild multipliers on the middle reels and sticky wilds in free spins, and every later game builds on that formula.
Which is the newest Dog House slot?
The Dog House Megaways 1000, released in July 2026. It takes the 2020 Megaways game and raises the wild multipliers to as much as 1,000x and the max win to 25,000x.
Who are the dogs?
The same four appear in almost every game: a Rottweiler (the top symbol), a Shih Tzu with a pink bow, a Pug and a Dachshund. Some sequels dress them up as cowboys, pirates or royals.
How the games work
How do the wild multipliers work?
The wild is a dog house. In the 5×3 games it lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 with a 2x or 3x multiplier, and if several wilds are in one win their multipliers are added: 2x and 3x make 5x. In the Megaways games the multipliers multiply instead, so 2x and 3x make 6x.
What are the barrels before free spins?
In most 5×3 games, a 3×3 grid of barrels spins before the bonus, and each shows 1, 2 or 3 free spins. The nine numbers are added up, so you get between 9 and 27 spins. In our demo tests we got 12 and 15.
Are the wilds sticky in free spins?
In nearly every game, yes: a wild that lands during free spins stays for the rest of the round with its multiplier. The Big Dog House adds ghost wilds that can remove a sticky wild, and Megaways games let you choose sticky or random wilds.
What is the difference between Megaways and the 5×3 games?
The two Megaways games use 6 reels whose height changes every spin, giving up to 117,649 ways to win instead of 20 fixed lines, and you choose between Sticky Wilds and Raining or Random Wilds free spins.

Buying and playing
Can I buy the free spins?
In seven of the nine games. The original and Dice Show have no buy. The standard buy costs 100x the bet everywhere, and newer games add pricier versions: up to 500x in Royal Hunt and The Big Dog House, and 2,500x in Megaways 1000.
Does buying the bonus improve my chances?
No. The game's rules list almost the same RTP for buys as for normal play, for example 96.54% for the Dog or Alive buy against 96.52% for base play. A buy saves time and adds variance. In our eight demo buys we got back 18% of what we spent.
Can I play the Dog House slots for free?
Yes. Pragmatic Play's website has a demo of each game, and many casinos offer a free fun mode. The demos start with virtual credits and include every feature, including the bonus buys.
Do the games work on mobile?
Yes. All nine are HTML5 games that switch to a portrait layout on phones, with the spin button and controls under the reels. There's no app to install.
