The Dog House Dice Show Review
The original's maths with a die on every symbol
Our score: 7.4/10
Quick verdict: Dice Show is The Dog House in a new costume. The 5×3 grid, 20 lines, 2x–3x wilds, barrel free spins, 96.51% RTP and 6,750x cap are all identical to the 2019 original. What's new is a circus stage, a jester wild and a die printed on every symbol. It plays as well as the original, but it adds nothing to the formula, so play whichever look you prefer.

The game
What is The Dog House Dice Show?
The Dog House Dice Show is a dice-themed edition of the original slot. Slot databases date it to , and casino listings describe it as the third game in the series. Trade press reported Pragmatic's dice versions of its hits going live with Belgian operators in 2023 and 2024.
The back yard is replaced by a theatre stage with red velvet curtains and bright marquee lights. A grinning yellow die in a jester's hat is both the mascot and the wild, and the Bonus symbol is a golden die. The four dogs are still here, but each one now has a white die in front of it.
Under the costume, nothing has changed. It's the same 5×3 grid with 20 paylines, and the rules, pays and free spins match The Dog House line for line. You'll find it at real-money casinos, but it isn't listed in the game library on Pragmatic Play's own website.

There's a neat system behind the dice. The six regular symbols carry 1 to 6 pips in order of value: one pip on the Rottweiler, six on the bone. The card symbols A, K, Q, J and 10 are dice too, but they show the Chinese numerals for one to five, from 一 on the ace to 五 on the ten.

How it plays
Wilds and free spins
Jester wilds with multipliers
The jester die is wild on reels 2, 3 and 4 only. On every spin, all wilds on one reel get a random 2x or 3x multiplier, and when several wilds sit on the same winning line their multipliers are added: 2x plus 3x is 5x.
Golden die Bonus
The golden Bonus die lands only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them pay 5x your bet, wherever they are, and start free spins.
Free spins
Before the round, a 3×3 grid of barrels reveals 1, 2 or 3 spins each, so you get 9 to 27 free spins. Every wild that lands on reels 2–4 during the round stays to the end with its multiplier. Bonus dice don't appear in the round, so it can't be retriggered.
There's no ante bet and no bonus buy. The feature has to come on its own.

Tested
Our demo bonus round
With no buy available, we ran turbo autoplay at a $2.00 bet in the demo until the bonus arrived. It took about 255 spins, almost the same wait as in our test of the original.
- Three golden dice paid $10.00, 5x the bet.
- The barrels gave us 12 free spins.
- For most of the round, no wild landed at all, and the spins paid small card wins.
- Late in the round a 2x and a 3x jester stuck on reel 2, and the last spins finally paid properly.
- The round finished at $28.50: 14.25x the bet.
That's within a dollar of our original Dog House round ($29.20 from 12 spins), which makes sense: it's the same game underneath.

Dice Show on your phone
In portrait mode the jester die waves from above the logo, the reels sit in the middle of the stage and the spin button is on the wooden floor below. The controls are the standard Pragmatic bottom bar: rules, autoplay, turbo, bet and menu.
The dice faces stay clear even on a small screen, so it's easy to see what landed.
Our take
Pros and cons
What we like
- Proven maths from the original, unchanged
- A cheerful stage theme and a fun jester wild
- Clever dice design, with pips and Chinese numerals
- 96.51% RTP and medium volatility
What we don't
- Nothing new in the gameplay
- No bonus buy, no retriggers
- The 6,750x cap is the series' lowest
- Not listed on Pragmatic Play's own site
Bottom line
Our verdict: is Dice Show worth playing?
Our score: 7.4/10
It's a good game, because the original is a good game. Dice Show keeps everything that works about The Dog House and adds a charming new coat of paint. But that's all it adds, and it scores lower than the original only because it brings nothing new to the series.
Play it if the stage theme appeals to you or if it's the version your casino offers. Otherwise, the original or one of the newer games will give you more to discover.
