The Dog House Megaways 1000 Review
Wild multipliers up to 1,000x and a 25,000x cap
Our score: 8.4/10
Quick verdict: The newest Dog House game takes the 2020 Megaways and turns the dial to 1,000. Wilds can now carry 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 100x or 1,000x, they still multiply each other, and the cap is 25,000x, the highest in the series. Super Bonus symbols add two stronger free spins rounds, and buys reach 2,500x. RTP is 96.50% in every mode. Thrilling, and capable of eating a budget fast.

The game
What is The Dog House Megaways 1000?
Released on , Megaways 1000 is the ninth and newest Dog House slot. It's Pragmatic's "1000" treatment, also given to games like Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza: the same game, with multipliers pushed to 1,000x and a much higher cap.
The base is the 2020 Megaways: six reels, each 2 to 7 symbols tall, up to 117,649 ways, the back yard and the four dogs, now redrawn. The paytable is identical. The wild is the star, with eight possible multipliers from 1x to 1,000x, and when several wilds land in one win, their multipliers multiply.
Free spins keep the choice between Sticky and Random wilds and add two Super versions triggered by a new teal Super Bonus paw. And with three buys, an ante bet and two super spins, there are plenty of ways to raise the stakes.

The pays are the original Megaways values, paid per way. They look small on paper; it's the wild multipliers that make this game, and a 25x or 100x wild on a strong way changes everything.

Wilds
Wilds from 1x to 1,000x
The dog house wild lands on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and substitutes for everything except the Bonus, Super Bonus and sticky wild symbols. Whenever one hits, it takes a random multiplier:
1x 2x 3x 5x 10x 25x 100x 1,000x
Multipliers in the same winning way are multiplied together, as in the 2020 Megaways. A 25x and a 3x make 75x; a 100x and a 5x make 500x. That's how a base-game spin can pay thousands of times the bet, and also why the game caps total wins at 25,000x.
Most wilds you'll see are the small ones. In our sessions, 2x and 3x were common, 25x showed up in the bonus and 100x appeared once in the base game. We never saw 1,000x outside the intro screen.
Bonus round
Four kinds of free spins
Land 3, 4, 5 or 6 Bonus paws anywhere and you win 7, 12, 15 or 20 free spins, then choose a mode. Mixing in the new teal Super Bonus paws upgrades the round:
| Round | Triggered by | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Sticky Wilds | 3–6 Bonus, your choice | Every wild that lands sticks with its multiplier, resizing with the reel; reels are always at least as tall as their sticky wilds. |
| Random Wilds | 3–6 Bonus, your choice | Up to 6 wilds of any size, with 1x–1,000x, are added in random spots on every spin. |
| Super Bonus | 3–6 Bonus and Super Bonus, with at least one of each | Every spin adds a random number of normal and sticky wilds. Sticky ones stay; normal ones leave after the spin. |
| All Super Bonus | 3–6 Super Bonus | Every spin adds random wilds, and every wild that lands stays until the end. |
None of the rounds can be retriggered. All Super Bonus is the dream: 7 to 20 spins where every wild sticks and keeps multiplying.

Options
Buys, ante bet and super spins
Three bonus buys
- Free spins, 100x: the standard round.
- Super free spins 1, 500x: the Super Bonus or All Super Bonus round can trigger at random.
- Super free spins 2, 2,500x: you choose Sticky or Random Wilds. With Sticky, the first spin is guaranteed a sticky wild of at least 25x; with Random, every spin is guaranteed a wild of at least 25x.
Special bets
- Ante bet, 3x your bet: free spins and both Super rounds are 10 times more likely to trigger naturally.
- Super spin 1, 20x your bet: at least 2 wilds on every spin; free spins can't trigger.
- Super spin 2, 500x your bet: at least 3 wilds every spin, one of them at least 25x; free spins can't trigger.
Every option keeps the same 96.50% RTP. That's unusually tidy, and it means the only thing you're choosing is volatility: how much you spend per decision and how wild the outcome is.

Tested
Our 2,500x buy, spin by spin
We went straight for the most expensive option, Super free spins 2, for $5,000 of demo credits at a $2.00 bet, and chose Random Wilds, which guarantees a wild of at least 25x on every spin.
| Spin | Spin win | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $0.00 | $0.00 |
| 2 | $30.00 | $30.00 |
| 3 | $5.60 | $35.60 |
| 4 | $0.00 | $35.60 |
| 5 | $145.80 | $181.40 |
| 6 | $612.00 | $793.40 |
| 7 | $41.20 | $834.60 |
The guarantee means every spin gets a wild of at least 25x. But a 25x wild only pays when matching symbols sit on both sides of it, and spins 1 and 4 paid nothing at all. The round came alive at spin 5, and spin 6 alone paid $612, or 306x the bet.
The total, $834.60, is 417x the bet. It's our biggest single win of the whole test, and still only a third of the 2,500x price. That's the lesson of premium buys in one table.

The maths
RTP, volatility and max win
RTP: 96.50%, everywhere
Base game, ante bet, both super spins and all three buys: the rules list 96.50% for every one. The real-money casino we checked and Pragmatic's website agree. It's slightly below the 2020 Megaways' 96.55%.
Volatility: medium
The rules say medium, which feels generous for a game with 1,000x wilds. In practice the base game does pay small wins often, and the variance comes from the rare big multipliers, and from whichever buy or special bet you choose.
Max win: 25,000x
The highest cap in the series, more than double the original Megaways. A round that reaches it ends immediately.

Family resemblance
Megaways 1000 vs The Dog House Megaways
What changed from the 2020 game
- Wild multipliers from 1x to 1,000x instead of 2x–3x.
- Random Wilds replaces Raining Wilds, and spins counts are the same for both modes.
- New Super Bonus symbol and two Super free spins rounds.
- Three buys up to 2,500x, an ante bet and two super spins.
- A 25,000x cap instead of "over 12,000x", and 96.50% RTP instead of 96.55%.
If the original Megaways is the balanced choice, this is the high-octane one. Start with The Dog House Megaways if you're new to the format.

The portrait layout puts the Megaways counter next to the logo and the Buy feature and Special bets buttons side by side above the spin button. Because reel heights change every spin, the grid can be anything from two to seven symbols tall; on our screenshot, a 240-way spin left lots of open garden below the reels.
Our take
Pros and cons
What we like
- Wild multipliers up to 1,000x that multiply together
- A 25,000x cap, the series' highest
- The same 96.50% RTP in every mode
- Super Bonus rounds where every wild can stick
What we don't
- Only 7 spins from 3 scatters, in either mode
- Buys up to 2,500x and super spins up to 500x per spin
- Big wilds often land with nothing to multiply
- Slightly lower RTP than the 2020 Megaways
Bottom line
Our verdict: is Megaways 1000 worth playing?
Our score: 8.4/10
If you want the biggest possible wins in the Dog House family, this is the game. Multiplying wilds that can be worth 25x, 100x or 1,000x make every spin feel loaded, and the Super Bonus rounds are a clever extra layer. Our 2,500x buy paid 417x, and spin 6 alone was worth 306x.
That same round lost two-thirds of its price, which is the other side of the coin. Play the base game at a sensible stake, and think hard before pressing any of the expensive buttons.
